This site will feature Bible-based articles some days, silly posts and quotes at least twice a week and facts about Jack the Ripper-to begin with.

This is what the gypsy mama has on her blog today:

So, here’s the skinny: I’ve been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out

: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.

Ala-ka-zam – Five Minute Friday was born

.

We’ve all got five minutes – while the kids are wrestling, while the macaroni’s boiling, while the dog is doing his business, while the plumber is resuscitating your washing machine.

Wanna just write? Without wondering if it’s just right or not. You’re welcome to play along. The rules are easy.

  1. Write your heart out for five minutes and show us what you’ve got.
  2. Tell your readers you’re linking up here and invite them to play along.
  3. And most importantly, go visit, read, and encourage the fellow five-minuter who linked up right before you.{I humbly beg you to turn off word verification for the day to make this easier!}

Easy peasy.

Oh and there’s always a little fun something-something in it for one five minute artist. Last week I got to give away the All Things Are Possible Water Bottle

to random winner Erin @Closing Time

.

This week the beautiful Victorious Life Charm Bracelet  by DaySpring

is up for grabs.

OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes for the prompt:

Deep Breath…

Go.

Take a deep breath.  My childs birthday is tomorrow.  She will be 18  a day I did not want to deal with.

Take a deep breath.

Phone rings.  “This is hte nurse at school…she has hurt her ankle and not sure if it is broken.  Take a deep breath…but her birthday’s tomorrow.  Deep breath.

“She will try to go back to class.”

Phone rings again.  “She is coming home.  She is in too much pain.  She probably needs tgo get it x-rayed.”

Deep breath.  At the doctor and did not have to wait.  She is sitting in a wheelchair.  x-ray tech is funny.  That relaxes me.  I feel dizzy, my child is hurt.  Don’t feel good.  Take a deep breath.

Doctor comes in. “No breaks just bad sprain.  Need crutches and splint.”

X-ray tech comes back.  Deep breath…no breaks.  He is funny again.  This time, really funny.  My daughter and I are both laughing.  She tells him her 18th birthday is tomorrow.

“Let me show you how to use these crutches.  Don’t do this, don’t do this…you’ll end up in a  wheel chair.  Don’t do this..don’t hurt your lymph nodes under your arms…really bad.  Can’t do this.  Can’t do that.  Will end up in wheel chair.

Take a deep breath.  This guy is scaring me.

“Mom, I’lll be fine.  Don’t worry.”

Stop.

Now, let’s see what you have.  What can you do with the prompt?  Send it back to the person who sent it to you and send it to thegypsymama.

  1. Wow, what a scary way to begin such an auspicious birthday. So glad it’s not broken – but bad sprains are NO FUN. Hope she has a happy day anyhow and that you can relax and enjoy her.

  2. Poor Steph! Hope she is feeling better quickly!!! And Happy birthday to her!!! 🙂

  3. A deep breath in letting go. I know that time will arrive all too quickly for me!
