This site will feature Bible-based articles some days, silly posts and quotes at least twice a week and facts about Jack the Ripper-to begin with.

Some believe that Martha Tabram was the first victim of the Ripper.  She is not included among the five known victims or canonical victims of Jack the Ripper. She was murdered on August 7, 1888 and Annie Chapman was the first canonical victim, murdered on September 8,1888.

She had 39 wounds on her body: 9 to the throat, 16 to the chest-5 had punctured her left lung, 2 to the right, and 1 the heart; 13 to the abdomen-5 punctures of the liver, 2 to the spleen and 6 to the stomach.  The last wound was to the lower portion of her body.  Instead of a stab, it was a slash-3 inches long and 1 inch deep along the female parts.

  1. What is a canonical victim? Does that mean, official? I’ve been meaning to tell you that I got a computer game, (find hidden objects and solve the crime) about Jack the Ripper.)

    • It usually means authorized or accepted. I played that game. I just played the 60 minute trial. Is that the one on BigFish Games or Gamehouse or something like that?
