It is believed that one of the influences of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is the city of Edinburg, his birthplace. One half was well-to-do, with little to no crime, while the other was slums, filled with the poor and heavy with crime.
