After ripper victim, Polly Nichols’ estranged husband stopped her allowances in 1882, she spent the next twelve months in and out of Lambeth Workhouse. In March of 1883, she attempted to pull herself together and moved in with her father. Arguments ensued, and he was to testify that she “was not a particularly sober woman”, but that he “knew would (she) come to a bad end”. He also testified that he did not kick her out of his house but that she left on her own in May of 1883.

Scene in newsroom, news anchor at desk with 4 panelists around him. Camera zooms in on him.
“Welcome to JNN, the Jericho News Network. The Israelites have been marching around Jericho outside the walls for three days, now. They have not attacked and have only blown their trumpets while marching around the fourteen feet high walls, which have never been penetrable. I have four panelists with me tonight to discuss the situation.”
Turns to first panelist.
“Nebuchadnezzar, what do you think is going on?”
Nebuchadnezzar: “I think they are a bunch of idiots, who don’t know what they’re doing. I mean, what is marching around the walls going to do? Do they think Jericho is just going to open up and let them in?”
“I disagree. I think whatever they have planned, it must be big.”
News anchor: “Delilah, what do you think we should do?”
Delilah: “I think we should send in the Philistines and end this now.”
Third panelist chimes in.
“So, what is marching around the city going to do? Are we supposed to be scared?”
Delilah: “Ahab, actually, you should be scared.”
Delilah: “Because they have a good track record. Don’t forget, they were led out of Egypt by Moses.”
Nebuchadnezzar: “Moses is dead.”
Delilah: “But they have a new leader, Joshua, who is supposed to be a good military leader.”
Ahab: “I say we just kill’em all right now.”
Samson: “What experience do they have? They’ve been wandering around in the wilderness for forty years.”
Delilah: “Not all of them for forty years. The first generation is dead-it’s their children who are marching around.”
Samson: “Well, whatever. They are still not a trained army. What do they think they’re going to do?”
News anchor: “We will have to wait and find out. Stay with us on JNN and we will keep you updated on the situation outside the walls. Thanks to all the panelists for joining me tonight.”
Turns to the camera.
“Thank you for watching.”
